Here’s what you need to know about the development of Lamberts Point

NORFOLK — City Council was treated to a presentation on the future development of the Railyard at Lamberts Point during their July 23 meeting.

Director of Planning George Homewood said the updates would renovate five structures as well as add five more to the space at 4501 Hampton Blvd.

The uses of the structures were presented as a bowling alley, a brewery, restaurants, office and retail spaces, Homewood said.

Included in the presentation were several mock-ups of what the space could look like when finished.

Next steps in the process before development can actually begin are going before the Architectural Review Board for design review (scheduled Aug. 5), going before the City Planning Commission for rezoning and design review (scheduled Aug. 22) and then going before City Council on Sept. 24 for rezoning, Homewood said.

For now residents can enjoy the mock-up photos of what the Railyard at Lamberts Point could turn out to be.
