This local brewery will release an IPA in honor of the victims of the Virginia Beach mass shooting

VIRGINIA BEACH — Commonwealth Brewing Company created a special IPA in honor of the victims and survivors of the May 31 Municipal Center mass shooting.

On Friday, the brewery will release the Lovestrong IPA in its taproom and shortly after at its partner retailers around Hampton Roads.

The brewery plans to donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the Virginia Beach Tragedy Fund.

“On May 31, 2019, Virginia Beach suffered a tragedy that took lives, impacted loved ones and affected every citizen. Since that time, there has been an outpouring of love and support from the local community and around the world,” according to Commonwealth Brewing’s Facebook page.

Starting at 11 a.m. Friday, people are invited to buy the new IPA, enjoy music by Lena Klett and Swell Luck and eat food provided by Slide Thru Fam and Joysicles 757.
