VIRGINIA BEACH — Pembroke Mall announced the addition of Latitude Climbing and Fitness, opening in the summer of 2020.

The team at Latitude Climbing and Fitness is looking to bring a modern rock climbing facility to the city, officials said in a news release.

The 16,000-plus-square-foot space will feature climbing walls up to 52 feet which will be visible from Virginia Beach Boulevard through a “magnificent glass storefront.”

In addition to climbing, guests will have access to a yoga studio, fitness and training area, and a dedicated area for kids and birthday parties.

Latitude will host instructional climbing classes, family events, and competition-style events, officials said.

Local vendors will also be highlighted in the snack and refreshment area.

“As we continue to transform the property, we are excited to have an entertainment concept that will create a new vibe while providing an
unforgettable experience for our customers and the Pembroke community,” said Mark Sandy, general manager. “Latitude Climbing and Fitness will be the catalyst for change, proudly launching one of the oldest Malls in America into a new and exciting decade.”
