NORFOLK — Signs of Strength.
Simple enough to understand what those words mean, but it holds a higher level of significance, in a time following the shooting that killed 12 people and injured four others May 31 in Virginia Beach.
Signs of Strength is a campaign created by VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads to demonstrate the strength and support the community has shown in response to the Virginia Beach mass shooting.
Organizers said 12 blank banners will be posted at businesses and community spaces throughout Hampton Roads for the public to sign and send their messages of hope, hurt, healing, and strength to the victims and survivors of the shooting.
After the completion of the project VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads will gift the signs to the city of Virginia Beach.
Local businesses will host a sign between Wednesday (June 12) and Saturday, June 15.
The full list of the dates, times, and locations that each sign will be posted can be found at.
