The Department of Game and Inland Fisheries has announced there will be free fishing days across the state.

The free days are from June 7-9.

During those three full days of fishing, anyone can fish free in public waters around the state without having to buy a fishing license.

The only thing officials ask is that all fishers adhere to all regulations.

There are more than 176,000 acres of public lakes and 27,300 miles of fishable streams across the state, according to the VDGIF.
