Volunteers needed to freshen up for the ‘furballs’

NORFOLK — Norfolk Animal Care and Adoption Center needs volunteers to help give the shelter a deep cleaning and mini makeover.

It will be on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Volunteers will be cleaning cat carriers and humane traps and picking up litter on their grounds.

They’ll also be filling their current and new planters with soil and vines as well as painting their new storage shed so it’s ready to hold supplies.

Those who’d like to volunteer to help can click here to RSVP.

Interested in volunteering on a regular basis? The center is currently recruiting for in-shelter and community event help, as well as foster families for kittens and medium to large dogs.

Those interested can learn more during Saturday’s event or email this address: laurelyn.flowers@norfolk.gov, or call 757-441-5505.

Volunteers should report to the Norfolk Care and Adoption Center on 5585 Sabre Road for both the open house and volunteer event.
