The seat was previously held by Shannon Kane, who resigned April 6.

Kane vacated her seat after moving out of the district.

Berlucchi believes his experience as an active civic and community volunteer will aid in his ability to serve the city and the Rose Hall District.

He was born and raised in the city and currently works as the community engagement manager at the Chrysler Museum of Art where he creates and implements educational and community partnerships to engage diverse audiences and develop new strategic initiatives.

Those efforts are particularly for underserved constituencies, according to Berlucchi’s letter of intent.

His three top priorities for city council are as follows:

  • Storm water, recurrent flooding and sea level rise
  • Jobs and a vibrant economy supported by strong schools
  • Public safety

Berlucchi said he hopes to use this opportunity to better serve the city where he was born.
