NORFOLK — The city will be hosting a free event for people with disabilities at the Virginia Zoo on 3500 Granby Street on May 4.

At the event, people can visit a safety expo, chat with vendors and enjoy onsite entertainment from the TR Dance Studio, Hurrah Players and TRC Dance Mix.

The event begins at 10 a.m. and run until 1 p.m.

American Sign Language interpreters will be provided, officials said.

The event is put on in part by the city’s Commission for Persons with Disabilities as well as the city’s Therapeutic Recreation Center.

The day for people with disabilities, and their caregivers, will go on, rain or shine and no RSVP is required.
