VIRGINIA BEACH — March’s First Friday lineup in the ViBe District’s BOJUart gallery will include an exhibition of a new body of work by Cameron Wilson Richter.
The work presented is titled “Immediate Gratification” and it is a material experimentation and social commentary, according to a news release from the gallery.
The work represented is minimalist in composition and maximalist in terms of color and texture.
Richter will be available to discuss the artwork on Friday from 6-9 p.m.
Richter uses a unique process, crumpling paper and then spray-painting the paper, creating stark, tactile surfaces, according to the news release.
The paper pieces are then cropped and mounted on primed panels, which gives the illusion of an alternate and utopian reality.
All of the work exhibited in the BOJUart gallery is available for sale at the gallery, online or by phone.
BOJUart donates a portion of each piece sold to Richter’s cause: The Friends of the Earth International.
The cause emphasizes the need to have a peaceful and sustainable world based on societies living in harmony with nature, according to the news release.
