VIRGINIA BEACH — Forbes released a list of top 16 places to travel to this spring and the city made the list.

Virginia Beach was one of only five domestic locations to make it.

The city sits on a list among places like Geneva, Switzerland, Tel Aviv, Israel and Mexico City.

Virginia Beach is called a must-visit for foodies and families with kids according to Forbes.

The prime time strawberry season from local farms in the Pungo agricultural district was listed as a big draw.

Forbes recommends people visit in May as it is the best month for strawberry picking, but to schedule the farm visit for a weekday to avoid the crowds.

Another pro tip the list adds is that many cafes and restaurants in Virginia Beach use farm fresh ingredients from the Pungo area on their menus and recommends visitors stop by Three Ships Coffee Roasters for their Iced Pungo Latte during strawberry season.
