VIRGINIA BEACH — The Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center’s campaign for a license plate protecting sea life has passed the Virginia General Assembly.
That means the funds generated from those license plate purchases will go directly toward supporting the Virginia Aquarium’s conservation and research programs, including their statewide marine animal Stranding Response Program.
Initially, the aquarium needed to meet a goal of 450 license plate applications but they have been able to meet the pre-sale goal, according to the aquarium’s website.
The aquarium will be accepting pre-orders of the license plates until April 1. Click here to find out how to purchase online.
Those interested can also find instructions on how to mail in a completed form.
