VIRGINIA BEACH — Salon Versace Dog Wash & Grooming is a locally-owned, self-service pet spa and full-service grooming salon, located where Great Neck meets Shore Drive here.
The business was opened by Kealy Ore in honor of her and her husband’s black labrador, Versace, who recently died.
Ore wanted to create something that would honor Versace’s memory and after leaving her job where she worked as a Financial Adviser a few months ago, she started focusing full-time on Salon Versace Dog Wash & Grooming.
Services at the salon include You Wash (customers bathe their pet in one of the salon’s walk-in spa tubs), We Wash (the salon bathes the pet), Full-Service Spa Grooming and additional a la carte spa services.

In addition to the salon services, Salon Versace also sells unique, natural, holistic and local pet treats and accessories in their retail area.
The concept of a self-service dog wash has been gaining popularity, Ore said
A perk of bringing a dog for self-wash at Salon Versace includes not only the bonding experience but being able to avoid clean up in their own home, Ore said in a news release.
Salon Versace provides everything customers need to wash and dry their dog, all included in the cost, Ore said.
The business has a choice of a variety of shampoos, scrubbers, ear, eye and dental wipes, nail trim/dremel, towels, brushes, aprons and a high-powered air dryer, all included in the You Wash price.
Salon Versace had its grand opening on Feb. 9 after having a soft opening earlier this month.
In addition to offering a variety of services, Salon Versace also gives a 10 percent discount to first responders, teachers and military members.
