Experience a European escape while leaving your passport at home

Now that New Year’s resolutions are in full swing, taking the time to travel and disconnect from the day to day is on the top of many lists.

Travel benefits us in many ways. Even with the vast variety of jobs we fulfill each day, they all include a certain level of stress and consumption of our attention. When we find that chance to get away from it all, we experience a reduction in stress, time to recuperate and reboot, the formation of deeper bonds with loved ones, and a chance to connect with the world outside of our daily bubble.

If you resolve to make time to travel with your loved one and to be more present in those precious moments, the Williamsburg Winery has a one-night escape that covers it all.

Romance and Reconnection

This winter, travelers can feel like they are worlds away though they are merely forty-five miles from home. The Williamsburg Winery’s Romantic Winter Escape package is the perfect getaway for seekers of romance and reconnection.

Available for reservations now between March 31st, this special includes a one-night stay in a Tradition room at the winery’s boutique hotel, Wedmore Place. Most rooms include a wood-burning fireplace to cozy up to while enjoying complimentary chocolates and a bottle of Williamsburg Winery wine. Without having to leave the winery property, the package also includes a wine tour and tasting for two, and a $100 dinner voucher for Café Provençal. After a restful night’s sleep on a king size bed, guests will enjoy a free continental breakfast spread of pastries, fresh fruit, croissants and more.

Remarkable Amenities

There’s a pure luxury in staying on property with experiences and amenities making it easy to nestle in and enjoy your vacation.

“You can come here for a day or days and never have to get in your car and leave,” said Michael Kimball, Vice President of Marketing for the Williamsburg Winery. “You can tour, taste, dine, and rest without ever having to drive. Guests enjoy an intimate stay on property.”

Old World Charm

While the forty-five-mile drive is far closer than a visit to the Old World, each room at the Williamsburg Winery holds fast to inspiration from various European provinces.  Though your passport will stay safe at home, your senses will be amazed by the richness of each detail in your room, and on the property as a whole.

Classic room at Wedmore Place

Each of the twenty-eight charming rooms at Wedmore Place has its own story and appealing décor from Germany, Spain, France, and other popular European destinations. Though you’ll feel worlds away, the quick drive makes this escape even more attractive when compared to the time and cost of traveling across the pond this winter.

“Staying at the Williamsburg Winery is an experience far away from distractions and noise of the everyday,” Kimball shared. “You can trade in honking horns and alarm clocks for crackling fires and bottles popping. You’ll feel reconnected and given the time and comfort to be present with your special someone.”

Renowned Dining

With recognition from Wine Spectator as one of the top eight outstanding wine restaurants in the United States, diners will no doubt indulge their senses at Café Provençal. The restaurant showcases a true farm-to-table dining experience. While highlighting local producers, wine, and relaxation, diners will tantalize their palates with French-inspired selections.

“Dining at Café Provençal is a true culinary art experience,” Kimball said. “It is an intimate experience with only fifty seats in the whole restaurant. We carry an extensive wine list, including ours, other Virginia wines, and wines from around the world.”

Understanding that not everyone drinks wine, The Williamsburg Winery also serves a variety of drinks including beer, cocktails, and sodas. Café Provençal is located inside Wedmore Place and is open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday with a spectacular three-course dinner special offered from Sunday through Thursday.

Exploring Colonial and Greater Williamsburg

Williamsburg is ranked as one of the top travel destinations in 2019 by The New York Times.

The Williamsburg Winery is a gem hidden away from the hustle and bustle we experience in Hampton Roads, yet guests are only a ten-minute drive from many other popular Williamsburg attractions, such as Colonial Williamsburg, the Premium Outlets, and Busch Gardens.

The Winery also features a casual lunch and brunch throughout the year at the Gabriel Archer Tavern. The Tavern has an extensive menu inspired by coastal Virginia’s finest ingredients, and is most well known for its fresh, homemade bread, sandwiches and both raw and cooked oysters.
