NORFOLK — Getting home just got easier.
Allegiant Air has added new nonstop routes to Norfolk from two Ohio cities: Cincinnati and Cleveland.
Both routes begin June 7 and will operate twice-weekly, bringing nearly 4,000 passengers to the Virginia Beach and Outer Banks areas annually, according to a news release from the company.
“We’re excited to announce yet another expansion in Norfolk,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue. “We’re sure folks in Cincinnati and Cleveland will be thrilled to take advantage of these convenient, ultra-low-cost, nonstop flights to enjoy Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks.”
Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com.
Cincinnati and Cleveland are high tourist origins for Hampton Roads, according to Robert Bowen, Norfolk Airport Authority executive director.
Bowen said the “new service from those cities into Norfolk International Airport will have a direct local economic impact on lodging, dining and other services.”
Allegiant also offers an travel option to Virginia Beach-bound travelers with low base airfare and savings on rental cars.
