Here’s how you can join the annual motorcycle ‘Ride for the Children’

VIRGINIA BEACH — Up to 100 riders will be representing Tidewater Harley Owners Group, Ladies of Harley, Blue Knights VA V and Southside Harley-Davidson in the 18th annual “Ride for the Children” on Sunday, said Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital in a news release.

The ride will start at Southside Harley-Davidson, 385 N. Witchduck Road and will end at Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital, 1309 Kempsville Road in Norfolk.

Participants will ride to the hospital on Virginia Beach Boulevard, westbound.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday at Southside Harley-Davidson and the motorcycle departure will begin at 9 a.m.

The ride is estimated to take about 15 minutes.

From then until about 11 a.m. there will be festivities at Lake Taylor.

Participants are asked to make a charitable contribution or pick out an angel for Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital and all the benefits will go towards Lake Taylor’s pediatric unit, said Lake Taylor.

Funds will provide much-needed medical equipment, supplies and special programs for the children in the hospital’s care, according to the news release.
