VIRGINIA BEACH — The Hampton Roads Youth Hockey Association is holding a “Try Hockey for Free Day” on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at Iceland in Virginia Beach.

The promotion is meant to encourage children ages 4 to 9 to try youth hockey as part of Come Play Hockey Month. The association will have limited equipment available for use, first come first serve.

According to the association’s website, their top youth hockey coaches will be on the ice to assist attending kids in learning the basics. Those who attend do not need any previous skating or hockey experience.

Although the event is free, registration is required. Those interested in attending can register on this page.
