Have unwanted items, papers that need shredding or hazardous waste? Bring them here

NORFOLK — Keep Norfolk Beautiful is hosting Clean Out to Clean UP in association with America Recycles Day on Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Waste Management, 1176 Pineridge Road.

The free event is designed for Norfolk residents to bring donations for Goodwill, documents for shredding, household hazardous waste and e-waste.

E-waste items are unwanted electronics such as computer keyboards or modems.

It is a one-stop shop kind of day where residents can get rid of those unwanted items, shred important documents and finally properly dispose of any hazardous waste they may have laying around.

Norfolk’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Service is available free of charge for Norfolk residents only — proof of residency is required.

There will also be a special plastic bag collection and Bay Star Home free tree giveaway for Norfolk residents.

Bay Star Homes will be giving away 100 free trees and shrubs in honor of Norfolk’s Public Works’ 100-year anniversary.
