NORFOLK — Join volunteers in the city as they work to turn a muddy median into a public sculpture garden on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Meeting at Attucks Theatre, the free event is open to the public and anyone willing to get a little muddy while volunteering for their community.

The sculptures and hardscaping are already in, now they just need help planting the plants that will transform the median next to the Attucks Theatre into a walkable, beautiful site for all to enjoy, according to the city.

Parking for the event will be in the lot next to the theatre.

Restrooms will be available inside the theatre.

The city will provide shovels, rakes, trowels, gloves and trash bags.

Officials recommend you bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes and be prepared to get dirty.
