Man charged with murder in connection to Denby Park shooting

NORFOLK — A 24-year-old man who is charged in connection to a Denby Park murder is awaiting extradition from North Carolina.

Donovan Robinson is accused of shooting and killing 44-year-old Lanxter Kuykendall.

Norfolk Police officers responded to the 400 block of East Little Creek Road around 6:10 p.m. on Jan. 3 where they found Kuykendall shot multiple times and lying on the sidewalk. Investigators believe the shooting happened in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 423 E. Little Creek Road, according to the NPD.

Kuykendall is also from the 400 block of East Little Creek Road. He died at the scene, police said.

Robinson is charged with second-degree murder and the use of a gun in the commission of a felony.
