Wolftrap Lane barricade resolved with arrest of 37-year-old man

VIRGINIA BEACH — A 37-year-old man was arrested overnight after he allegedly barricaded himself inside a Wolftrap Lane home.

Virginia Beach Police officers responded to a home in the 700 block of Wolftrap Lane around 10:08 p.m. Sunday to check on a woman living there. When they arrived, officers couldn’t make contact with the woman or anyone else in the home, according to a news release.

Officers set up a perimeter and called the SWAT team. They continued to try to contact the woman and others living in the home but could not.

Eventually, Tyrone Rodney Thompson left the home and was arrested. He is charged with third-offense domestic assault, and other charges against him are pending.

The woman inside the home was not injured, police said.
