VIRGINIA BEACH — Before you toss your old newspapers into the recycle bin, consider donating them to the Virginia Beach Care & Adoption Center.
The shelter is in need of old newspapers to line the cages of animals that it cares for, and is hoping you can help them.
Newspapers get soiled quickly by pets awaiting adoption, so they’re in constant demand by the shelter.
This is a great way to get rid of unused items while doing some good to help local animals—at no cost to you.
Zach Carr with the VBACAC, said donations can be dropped off at the center located at 341 S. Birdneck Rd., just east of Naval Air Station Oceana.
“We have red donation bins outside and inside the center,” he said.
Carr also encouraged Southside residents to check the center’s Amazon wish list.
For more information on how you can help VBACAC, call the shelter at 385-4444 (option 2) or visit its website.
