Motorcyclist injured in crash with Virginia Beach school bus

VIRGINIA BEACH — Authorities in Virginia Beach say the roadways between South Independence Boulevard and South Rosemont Road have reopened after an early-morning crash with injuries involving a school bus and a motorcycle.

The wreck occurred at 6:22 a.m., near the 1500 block of Lynnhaven Parkway and the 1400 block of Wendfield Drive, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department.

Officers said the motorcycle rider was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The bus driver was not injured.

Police said there were no children on the bus at the time of the crash.

The roadways near this area were reopened around 10 a.m., police said.
