VIRGINIA BEACH — A restaurant with locations in Hilltop and Ghent is celebrating 30 years of business for the entire month of November with deals and giveaways.
Both No Frill Bar & Grill locations at 806 Spotswood Ave. in Norfolk and 1620 Laskin Road in Virginia Beach will be offering special prices and giveaways to customers from Nov. 1 through the 30th.
The family-run restaurant has been a part of the Norfolk food scene since it opened its original location on Tidewater Drive back in 1987 before relocating to its current Ghent spot 10 years later and expanding to Virgina Beach in 2005.
“No Frill has found a niche in the family casual category,” said co-owner Jerry Meltsner in a press release. “We’ve always offered a great value with generous portions at very reasonable prices. We want to thank our very loyal customers throughout the month and reward them with throw-back prices, extended happy hours and even more surprises.”
No Frill Bar & Grill has become popular among customers and the community over the years, donating thousands of dollars to local charities like SPCA, For Kids, Virginia Arts Festival, and Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters
“No Frill Bar & Grill has been an important supporter of CHKD for nearly 20 years,” said Karen Gershman, director of development, in a press release. “They have given more than $77,000 for the kids at CHKD through their annual tradition of donating $1 for every appetizer and dessert sold in the month of February. We are grateful to the whole team at No Frill Bar & Grill for their commitment to the health and well-being of our community’s children.”
The restaurants will host regular specials like “Throwback Thursdays” with meal prices like back in the ’80s and “Steal the Pint Nights” with commemorative glasses.
Happy Hour has also been extended from 4-7 p.m., and the eatery is offering special prices during Sunday brunch.
