German grocery store Lidl to open second Virginia Beach location

VIRGINIA BEACH — Lidl is expected to open another store in Virginia Beach in about two weeks.

The Germany grocery store company announced Wednesday morning that it would be opening a second location at 3248 Holland Road on Oct. 26.

Lidl spokesman Will Harwood wrote in a news release that this will be the company’s eighth store to open in Hampton Roads this year.

“We are proud to be driving prices down for customers around our stores,” Harwood wrote.

Like previous locations, the new facility is expected to measure at 20,000 square feet with a six-aisle layout. The store is expected to have grand opening deals, offering customers opportunities for prizes, special deals and giveaways.

The first 100 customers to arrive will on opening day will be entered for a chance to win up to $100 in Lidl gift cards.
