After contribution from Blimpie, reward for info on missing Virginia Beach woman doubled to $20K

VIRGINIA BEACH — Blimpie has contributed $10,000 on top of the $10,000 the FBI is already offering for information that leads to finding a missing Virginia Beach woman.

Ashanti Markaila Billie, 19, was last seen entering Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story around 5 a.m. on Sept. 18. She was reporting for work at the sub shop but never arrived. She also missed her scheduled college classes, FBI officials said.

“We are very concerned about the disappearance of Ashanti Billie and we are working with the authorities to help find her and bring her home safely,” said Jeff Wallace, Blimpie’s vice president of operations. “We are here to help support Ashanti’s family during this difficult time.”

Later on Sept. 18, Billie’s cellphone was found in a dumpster near the corner of Tallyho Terrace and Azalea Garden Road in Norfolk. On Saturday, police found Billie’s Mini Cooper in the 9500 block of Lakeside Drive.

On Tuesday, the FBI released surveillance camera footage from the base of Billie driving her vehicle.

Billie is described as being around 4-feet-11-inches and weighing about 133 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to immediately call the FBI’s Norfolk Field Office at 757-455-0100.
