A man was injured and charged with reckless driving after striking a power pole in Virginia Beach Sunday morning, police say.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 7:15 a.m., when the adult male driver was traveling west on Norfolk Avenue, according to a release from the Virginia Beach Police Department. The power pole was downed.
No other passengers were in the vehicle.
Virginia Beach police have closed the roadway at the 700-800 block of Indian Avenue and Carribean Avenue due to the downed power pole. The road is expected to be closed until the early afternoon.
The driver was transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
