This holiday season you can help those in need without spending a dime.

The Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office is hosting its winter blood drive on Wednesday. The blood drive will take place from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the sheriff’s office exercise yard, located at 2501 James Madison Blvd.

The VBSO has hosted quarterly blood drives in conjunction with the American Red Cross for more than 25 years. The events are about giving back – but they are also fun, with music, raffles and snacks, according to VBSO spokeswoman Kathy Hieatt.

Schedule an appointment to donate by calling 385-8446 or visiting redcrossblood.org.
