Virginia Beach man sentenced for sex trafficking of minors

A Virginia Beach man was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison Thursday for sex trafficking a child, prosecutors said.

Keiawn Demarco McDonald, 24, pleaded guilty in August and is the seventh and final member of a sex trafficking ring to be sentenced. The seven individuals will spend a total of 92 years in prison.

McDonald, who, according to court documents, is a member of the Bloods street gang, recruited a minor to engage in prostitution in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake. Prosecutors say he took photographs of the victim, posted advertisements online and arranged appointments for her. McDonald also instructed her on how to conduct her appointments and supervised her during appointments via text message.

McDonald also forced the victim to recruit another teenager to prostitute for him and kept all of the money they received.
