Early voters in Virginia Beach get jumpstart on 2016 election

Though the Nov. 8 election is still two weeks away, in-person absentee voters have been turning out at the Virginia Beach Municipal Center since Sept. 23, where more than 3,462 citizens have taken advantage of early voting.

On Monday, just two days after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump held a rally at Regent University, four more in-person absentee locations opened: the Courthouse Fire Station, 2449 Princess Anne Rd., Building 13; the Bayside Recreation Center, 4500 First Court Rd.; the Great Neck Recreation Center, 2521 Shorehaven Dr. and the Kempsville Treasurer’s Office, 5340 Fairfield Shopping Center.

Reporter Mariah Poll checked out three of the polling places Monday and came back with the images in this photo gallery.
