So how much money did our candidates for the Senate and House raise? Well, here you go

One candidate has raised more than all others combined

As the 2018 election season nears it’s final days, here’s a look at the amount of money raised by Virginia candidates for U.S. Senate, as well as candidates for the 2nd Congressional District of the U.S. House of Representatives.

These numbers are derived from the Virginia Public Access Project, which compiles campaign finance information on political candidates.

U.S. House

Rep. Scott Taylor (R):

  • Has raised $3,417,866

Elaine Luria (D):

  • Has raised $3,192,745

Combined, Taylor and Luria have raised a total of $6.6 million. Luria, a 20-year Navy veteran, and Taylor, a former Navy SEAL, engaged in a public debate on Tuesday at the Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach.

U.S. Senate

Sen. Tim Kaine (D):

  • Has raised $21,746,181

Corey Stewart (R):

  • Has raised $2,354,251

Matt Waters (L):

  • Has raised $53,158

Kaine has raised nearly 10 times the amount of money as Stewart and Waters combined.
