Boon’s Car Saloon

Meet Scotty Fenton, owner of Boon’s Car Saloon; a family owned and operated, full-service preventative maintenance and automotive repair center.

Do you have a nickname? What is it?
S: Boon – when my dad was a kid it was his nickname, so when I was born I became “little boon.”

What is one food that you will not eat?
S: My mom used to make a dish called “slum gum.” It was white bread, canned tomatoes, canned corned and Velveeta cheese. Me and my sisters called it “slug-a-muffin,” it was disgusting. I would sit there and cry as a kid and my mom would wait for me to eat it. My grandma used to make it for her.

What was your favorite movie?
S: Across the Universe

If someone was to give you a gift (money’s no object) what would you want?
S: A nice RV to travel to all the music festivals.

What is your biggest fear?
S: Heights

What is the one quality you admire most in others?
S: Integrity

Where is the next place you want to visit?
S: I’m going to Philadelphia to see Phish for my birthday.

If you had to pick one place in town to take a tourist, where would it be?
S: The NorVa. I can’t even count how many shows I’ve seen down at that place.

Describe your perfect day off.
S: Out on the water jet skiing. We used to have them as a kid and I loved it, and I just bought one.
