Assistant Digital Editor (Williamsburg, VA)

Local Voice Media seeks an energetic Assistant Digital Editor to join our growing team in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Our Assistant Digital Editors are responsible for producing daily news stories, assisting in the development of emerging digital platforms, driving social media and crafting our daily e-newsletters. Candidates must have exceptional writing and editing skills, be innovators and savvy adopters of digital formats, love teaching, and be capable of thriving in a fast-paced, creatively demanding environment.

Candidates must have an understanding of audience-engagement tactics that will increase traffic and brand visibility, and the ability to implement those skills daily across multiple media platforms.

Assistant Digital Editor’s duties:

– Oversee daily news operations on all content channels
– Assign, write and edit stories, demonstrating a strong commitment to local news
– Motivate and educate our news reporting team
– Produce content for multiple online platforms/use social media effectively
– Lead in engaging audiences with our content
– Incorporate insights gleaned from web and social media analytics
– Adhere to and enforce SEO best practices

Multimedia Journalist (Wilmington, NC; Virginia Beach, VA)

Local Voice is an innovative digital media company with an energetic culture. To excel as a digital reporter you will be a driven, digital-savvy journalist with the ability to deliver topical, meaningful content every day. Candidates must have exceptional writing and editing skills, be innovators and savvy adopters of digital formats and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, creatively demanding environment. They must have a keen eye for stories and an on-the-ground approach to reporting. Candidates must be adept at social media and committed to engaging with their audience.

Members of the Local Voice Media team are brand ambassadors who represent our company in the local news, business, and education communities.

Duties and requirements:

  Strong collaborative communication skills
  Ability to work within a team, taking responsibility for a variety of measurable digital tasks to grow audience
  Engage in digital, multimedia storytelling
  Manage content across web, mobile, tablet and social media
  Post stories frequently throughout the day
  Maintain regular communication with editor
  Understand and use our news organization’s audience analytical reports
  Meet deadlines
  Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed

Sales & Marketing Consultant (Wilmington, NC)

If so, you may be the perfect candidate for the Sales & Marketing Consultant position at Local Voice Media.

The Sales & Marketing Consultant is the primary external champion of Local Voice, who continuously strives to educate both clients and the community on the company’s proprietary multi-channel media model. A Sales & Marketing Consultant must be able to explain the model and how it serves all local constituents, and select the right combination of tools to best serve the needs of individual clients.

Duties include:

  • Prospect, market, sell and service advertising to new businesses
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with new prospects and existing clients as assigned
  • Create unique marketing campaigns that leverage the Local Voice channels to best serve clients
  • Negotiate business contracts
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals
  • Positively promote the Local Voice Media model and the company as a whole within the community
  • Strictly adhere to the Inner Circle Sales System, the tenets of Strategic Selling and all Local Voice Best Practices for Marketing Consultants
  • Other duties as assigned
