Edward C. Kennedy, 70, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017. Born in New York City he was the son of the late Vincent and Catherine Kennedy.
He retired as a police officer with the New York Police Department and was a Vietnam veteran. He was tough, but had a huge heart and an equally great sense of humor. He was also very generous, caring for everyone and trying to do the right thing even when it was hard.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Eileen Kennedy; four children, Edward (Rebecca), Brendan (Jessica), Caitlin and Patrick Kennedy; two grandchildren, Julianna and Liam; five brothers, Michael (Denise), Tommy, Stephen, Bryan and Sean (Barbara) Kennedy; and two sisters, Eileen Senatore (Henry) and Maryellen McNerney (Charles).
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 20, from 7-9 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk.
