Wayne G. Fowlkes, 74, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017.

Born in Virginia Beach, Wayne served in the U.S. Army and retired from the City of Chesapeake. Wayne was well known for his lifetime achievements in custom rod building and contributions to the craft as the owner of Wayne’s Custom Tackle. He was generous by nature and always there for anyone in need. His passion for fishing and lively conversations will surely be missed by all those who knew him. He was a Christian. Wayne was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Wayne was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred M. Smith of Virginia Beach in 2006.

He is survived by his uncles, Fred Krumm, and his wife, Elizabeth, of Woodbury Heights, N.J., James Krumm of Willow Grove, Pa., and Richard Krumm of Langhorne, Pa.; as well as countless friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Princess Anne Memorial Park.
