Robert R. Frazier, 90, passed away peacefully Friday, April 7, 2017. He was born Jan. 21, 1927, to the late Lillian and Alphonso Frazier in Meadville, Pa. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Alyce F. Foster, Dorothy Lynn and Geraldine Clark; and a brother, Alfonzo, Jr.

Robert received a B.S. in mathematics from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked for the U.S. Department of Defense as a physical scientist for 35 years. He also worked a substitute teacher for Virginia Beach Public Schools.

He was an active member of New Genesis Baptist Church, where he served on the Scholarship Committee. Robert was a professional photographer and an avid fisherman. In his leisure, he enjoyed horseshoes, baseball and bowling.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Emma Frazier; daughter, Kim Winston; sister, Betty Smith; brother, William Frazier; two grandchildren, Amaya and Robert O’Connor Winston; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Beach Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach. A homegoing celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, at New Genesis Baptist Church, 3229 MacDonald Road, Virginia Beach. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 6309 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk.
