VBFD: 1 dead, 2 injured during home fire

One person died and two were injured in a residential fire in Acredale early Sunday, according to Virginia Beach Fire Department.

The home is in the 1100 block of Old Kempsville Road, according to a release from VBFD.

VBFD responded to a call around 2:30 a.m., when smoke was pouring from the front of the house. Firefighters found the victim and the injured people inside. One of the injured persons was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The other refused treatment.

No information has been released about the identity of the person who died.

The fire was confined to one bedroom. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
