NORFOLK — The Old Dominion men’s soccer team will be holding a kid’s soccer clinic on April 8 from 10 a.m. to noon for refugee children of poverty- and war-stricken countries in the Middle East and Africa.

The clinic will be held in Newport News at the Regency Square Apartment Complex where many of the children live with their families.

ODU men’s soccer is partnering with Adidas as the title sponsor, who will be donating T-shirts and mini balls for the kids. Aramark, the official food service of ODU, has also partnered with the soccer team and will be donating boxed lunches for the kids and team to share after the day’s events.

Coach Alan Dawson’s hope is that it will be great event overall for the kids who have very little, but have grown up around the sport of soccer. He and the team want to make this event special for the kids who have gone through so much at such young ages.
