NORFOLK – The 2017-18 Broadway lineup has been announced by Jam Theatricals and SevenVenues, with favorites “Book of Mormon” and “Les Miserables” returning to Norfolk.
The Tony award-winning “Book of Mormon” will kick off the season on Oct. 3, running for six nights through Oct. 8. The hit musical debuted in Norfolk in 2014, breaking attendance records for Chrysler Hall.
The “Dirty Dancing” story will follow, stopping in Norfolk for one weekend only, from Nov. 17-19. In December, theater-goers can see “The Sound of Music” from Dec. 15-17.
Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of the Tony Award-winning musical “Les Miserables” will run in January for six nights, from Jan. 23-28, 2018. Coming off of an acclaimed two-and-a-half-year return to Broadway, the musical features new staging and reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo.
“Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” will round out the end of the season, showing from March 13-18, 2018. “Beautiful” details the true story of King’ s rise to stardom – from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband to her relationship with Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in pop music.
Tickets and showtimes will be available at SevenVenues.
