Jocelyn Priola and Nader Abouelgubein are to be married July 2017 in Virginia Beach.
The couple was planning to go backpacking at Shenandoah National Park until they unexpectedly got 12 inches of snow and the trip was cancelled.
Nader suggested that the couple take a road trip to pick up their new puppy (a week early). “At the start of an hour-long road trip, Nader suggested I take pictures of the journey to pick up our new puppy, so I did,” said Jocelyn.
Once the couple arrived, Jocelyn walked in the backyard to find a dozen roses and an adoring puppy who ran up to greet her. “I didn’t think much of the roses and was so excited to play with the puppy. I noticed a blue ribbon on the collar but thought it was because she was a gift, until Nader asked what was on the ribbon,” said Jocelyn. Nader twisted the puppy’s collar around and Jocelyn’s jaw dropped at the sight of a gorgeous ring.
“Shocked, I said ‘yes!’ I was never documenting my journey to a puppy, I was documenting my journey to an engagement and happily ever after,” said Jocelyn.
