VIRGINIA BEACH – The 24th American Music Festival is bringing 311 back to the beach to headline the opening night of this year’s event.
After Hurricane Hermine forced the festival officials to cancel the band’s performance last year, Beach Events Director Mike Hilton said he’s excited to have the band back on 5th Street Stage.
“Many of their loyal fans were disappointed when weather dictated canceling their scheduled headline show last year,” Hilton said in a news release. “This is going to be a special performance for the band and their many thousands of fans.”
Hilton said more than two dozen artists and groups will play on one of the festival’s three stages along the boardwalk.
311 will take the stage on Friday, Sept. 1. Ticket information, as well a list of performers, will be announced at Beach Street USA.
