Dolores ‘Dee’ Marie Willis, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Kempsville Health and Rehab Center in Virginia Beach, Va. She was born Dolores Marie Holsapple and grew up in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Florence Holsapple; former husband, Herbert Wilson Willis; and son, Gary William Willis.

She is survived by her son, Herbert Guy Willis, and his wife, Beverly; grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua and Andrew Willis; and great-grandchildren Lillian and Elijah Willis, all who reside in Virginia Beach, Va.

After graduating from North Side High School and getting married in 1950, she became a truly dedicated and loving wife and mom. She enjoyed dancing, singing and was an active local stage play performer in Fort Wayne. Dolores was an avid animal advocate all of her life. And she was extremely passionate about and reached out to others, helping those in need.

A memorial service for Dolores will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at Courthouse Community United Methodist Church, 2708 Princess Anne Road Virginia Beach. Burial will be in Fort Wayne, Ind., summer 2017.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Courthouse Community United Methodist Church, 2708 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
