Police: Blind man missing in Norfolk found safely

NORFOLK — A legally blind man who went missing after a trip to a Norfolk emergency room was found safely on Sunday night.

Police say 71-year-old Marving W. James, who also has dementia, returned to his home and family safely.

March 4:

A 71-year-old blind man last seen walking out of a Norfolk emergency room has gone missing.

Police are searching for Marvin W. James, who was last seen walking out of the emergency room at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, located at 600 Gresham Drive, around midnight on Friday.

James, who was last seen wearing a grey, long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and dark shoes, is legally blind and needs medication, according to a Norfolk Police Department news release.

James has a slender built, standing at 5’11” and weighing 175 pounds. He’s has brown hair and eyes.
