NORFOLK — Two new small businesses have opened their doors in downtown Norfolk.

The Downtown Norfolk Council said Monday Corks & Caps has opened at 240 East Main St. The shop sells wine from mostly family-owned vineyards from around the world, as well as craft beer.

Corks & Caps originally opened as Bottleworks on Granby Street before the owner, Mimi Nusbaum, realized more retail space was needed.

“This location is ideal since it sits directly across the street from the Norfolk Waterside Marriott, and we are able to attract visitors as well as residents and works,” Nusbaum said in the release.

The Rustic Tart, a pastry shop located at 323 Granby St., has also opened. The shop sells prepared pies, other baked goods and locally roasted coffee, according to the release.
