Mary Genevieve Hull, widow of Leslie Michael Hull, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017.

She was born in Richmond County, Nova Scotia, to the late Raymond and Sarah Sampson. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Sampson; and a sister, Sylvia Dowell. Mary graduated from St. Martha’s Nursing School in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, after which she worked as a registered nurse in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Her main focus was her family and her faith throughout the many years of being relocated, until finally settling in Virginia Beach, where she was an active member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church for the past 33 years and served on the funeral ministry.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, Mark Hull, and his wife, Karen, of Agawam, Mass., Michael Hull, and his wife, Sharon, of East Hampton, Conn., and Gerald Hull, and his wife, Rebecca, of Hancock, N.H.; grandchildren, Christopher, and his wife, Katherine, Jennifer, and her husband, Clint, Mark, and his wife, Kristin, Michael, and his fiancée, Jennica, Danielle, Matthew, Rachel, Sarah Jane and Elizabeth Mary; great-grandchildren, Owen, Skye, Ayden and Elijah; loving nieces, Yvonne Sampson, Lorraine Kingsman, Mary Vaughan and Jennifer Wood; and nephew, Raymond Sampson.

A funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 712 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
