The Virginia Department of Transportation welcomed Farm Fresh to its E-ZPass On-the-Go retail program Friday.

Hampton Roads residents can now purchase prepaid  E-ZPass transponders at each of the state’s 39 Farm Fresh retailers for convenient passage through the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel, South Norfolk Jordan Bridge, Chesapeake Expressway, Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, Coleman Bridge and Dominion Boulevard Veterans Bridge, according to a press release.

“Farm Fresh is the first grocery store in Hampton Roads to join our E-ZPass On-the-Go program,” Deputy Secretary of Transportation Grindly Johnson said. “I’m thrilled to welcome Farm Fresh to our roster of businesses and retailers making it easier for Virginia residents to take advantage of the benefits associated with E-ZPass. ”

The pre-paid transponders cost $35, and are available for immediate use with a $15 toll credit. To use the additional $20, the transponders must be registered online, by phone, at an E-ZPass Customer Service Center or at the Department of Motor Vehicles.
