Donna Englett Berg, 69, passed serenely Friday, Jan. 27, 2017. She valiantly and bravely rallied against breast cancer, an intrepid warrior to the very end.

She was born May 2, 1947, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Walter Englett Jr. and J.J. Englett Seidler. Ms. Berg is survived by her daughter, Heather Fraser and son-in-law, Stuart Fraser of Cary, N.C.; sisters, Karen E. Gordon of Virginia Beach and Joy E. Hill of Chesapeake and brother-in-law, John F. Hill Jr., of Chesapeake; as well as many beautiful and loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Teresa E. Watkins, and the aforementioned Walter Englett Jr. and J.J. Englett Seidler.

Ms. Berg was a compassionate, loving, trustworthy, witty and intelligent woman. A voracious reader and a passionate advocate of the law, she also enjoyed the fellowship of Unity Church of Tidewater in addition to culinary pursuits, interior design and photography. She was employed as a paralegal
and legal secretary for 46 years within various law firms throughout Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Va.

A special note of gratitude is extended to the following team of friends and caregivers who gave selflessly so that Ms. Berg could live out her remaining days in comfort and peace: Linda Sherburne, Sherrise Powers, her Intrepid Hospice team and Kristie Chappell. All of you have been instrumental throughout her journey and transition to the afterlife.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Intrepid Hospice USA in her name.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Unity Church of Tidewater, 5580 Shell Road, Virginia Beach.
