Lois S. DiLaura, 86, of Norfolk, passed away peacefully on Feb.2, 2017. She was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on Feb. 20, 1930, to the late Earl and Irene Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Jack C. DiLaura; two sons, Michael A. and Paul J. DiLaura; and sister, Joan Serbinowski.

She was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, loved to bowl with the ladies bowling league, and saw her family as her greatest treasure.

Left with her memory are four children, Marianne D. Vallera (Michael) of New Bern, N.C., Carol D. Weaver (Barry) of Chesapeake, Va., John D. DiLaura (Connie) of Norfolk, and Thomas J. DiLaura (Sharon) of Chesapeake, Va.; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Rocco, Sarah, Jenna, April, Alan, Jessica, and Stephanie; and six great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Kempsville Health and Rehab.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, from 1-3 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Julio Bueno as the celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
