Lyniesha Wright and Christopher Ward are to be married April 22, 2017, at First Baptist Church Denbigh, Newport News, Va., and Hampton Convention Center, Hampton, Va.
Lyniesha, 24, is a Ph.D. student in chemistry. She graduated from Warwick High School in 2010 and the University of Richmond in 2014. She is a daughter of Linwood and Maxine Wright of Newport News, Va.
Christopher, 30, is owner of The Breakfast Food Truck. He is the son of Sandra Bryant.
Lyniesha and Chris met at the Richmond Ballet. Lyniesha was her usual busy self and needed to replace the ticket to a dance recital she missed, so she requested to see the manager. Out came Chris, and from that moment, they’ve never stopped talking, and he never stopped saving the day!
Lyniesha would say it wasn’t a date, and Chris would say the opposite. However, they first got to know each other over a large plate of fries and two burgers at Five Guys in Richmond, Va. Her food didn’t come out right and Chris stood up and fixed the situation while Lyniesha, of course, kept her cool.
The two seemed a perfect pair from the start. In 2015, Lyniesha was teaching in Chicago. Chris drove 12 hours from North Carolina to surprise her. The next morning, Chris and Lyniesha watched the sun rise over the horizon of Michigan Lake. To her surprise, Chris began to tell Lyniesha how much she meant to him and how many more sun rises and sets he’d love to live through with her. After gasps and tears, Lyniesha excitedly obliged.
