Updated NPD: Norfolk man dies in shooting early Saturday

Police have identified the victim as Quinton D. Wells, 28, of the 800 block of Cavalier Boulevard, according to an updated release.

A homicide investigation is underway in Norfolk after a 28-year-old man died of an apparent gunshot wound early Saturday in Tidewater Gardens, police say.

Dispatchers got a call just after midnight about a shooting in the 800 block of  East Charlotte Street, according to a release from the Norfolk Police Department.

Inside a residence, police found the man with an apparent gunshot wound. He was declared dead at the scene.

Police have not released information about a suspect or a motive.
