Norfolk PD: dead man pulled from the water in Oceanview

A Norfolk man was found dead floating in Little Creek Water Channel in Oceanview Saturday, police say.

Just before 1 p.m., dispatchers received an emergency call about a body floating in the water, according to a release from the Norfolk Police Department.

Officers responded to Bay Point Marina, 9500 30th Bay St. and recovered  the body of Neil O. Donnelly Jr., 50, whose residence was given as being on the same block.

Police have classified the case as an undetermined death investigation.

This story has been revised to reflect the spelling of the victim’s last name, to include his middle initial and to reflect that he was a “Jr.”, as stated in an updated release.
